Amadeus Elegant joins Spirit of the Danube and Spirit of the Rhine, both named in 2022, as part of the operator’s growth strategy.

The ship offers guests the opportunity to experience smaller and more unusual ports such as Zell on the Moselle, which larger ships can’t. She’ll also be cruising the stunning Saar river.

Amadeus Elegant is a beautifully appointed ship with a similar lay-out to the Spirit ships. It has four decks – Haydn, Strauss and Mozart house the cabins and then there is a Sun Deck, which offers a chess board, putting green, Lido bar and shuffleboard. The cabins on the Mozart and Strauss decks have French balconies, while those on Haydn have picture windows. Suites are approximately 22 square metres, while main cabins are approximately 15 square metres. The facilities also include the Panorama Restaurant and Panorama Bar and Lounge, with an outdoor terrace and a fitness centre.

Amadeus Elegant joins the fleet as Saga aligns the river cruise experience on its Spirit Class ships more closely with the operator’s ocean offering, with the introduction of all-inclusive food and drink, up to 25 per cent off on early bookings, complimentary chauffeur drive, free Wi-Fi, included travel insurance and the option to travel on back-to-back cruises.

Guests also have a no-fly option on selected departures and can travel to the ships on the Eurostar from St Pancras.
