Calling all thrill-seekers! Experience Saga’s new Treasures of the Baltic cruise

  • Go rafting through River Kymijoki’s rapids

  • Test your head for heights with Little Belt Bridge walk or the Tallinn TV tower challenge

  • Carlsberg Brewery Tour – ‘probably the best brewery tour in the world’!

Thrill-seekers can test their strength of spirit during Saga Sapphire’s cruise to the Baltic on June 5, 2018.

In Kotka, Finland, there’s an opportunity to go rafting on the rapids of the River Kymijoki, while in Fredericia, Denmark, guests can opt to walk the Little Belt Bridge at a height of nearly 200 feet. For a taller challenge the Tallinn TV tower awaits for a walk around the edge of its 541-foot roof.

On board the 700-passenger Saga Sapphire the excitement continues with a ‘Casino Royale’ ball and an intriguing murder mystery evening of entertainment.

The Treasures of the Baltic cruise also includes two days in St Petersburg and there’s a chance to join an exclusive evening visit to the Hermitage to enjoy the beautiful art collections while the museum is closed to the general public.

More cultural gems can be seen in Skagen, north Jutland, a landscape which inspired many 19th-century artists, with their art on display in local art museums.

In Copenhagen, Denmark, guests can tour the city and opt to quench their thirst on a tour of the Carlsberg Brewery, taking in a military installation and its command centre hidden in the cellars.

The Finnish city of Kotka lies on an island and during the late 19th century Alexander III and his wife often stayed at their ‘dacha’ on the Kymi River. Saga’s more adventurous guests can ride the river’s rapids in an optional excursion.

In Tallinn, Estonia, a walk round the edge of the 541-foot TV tower awaits, while those who do not have a head for heights can get swept up in the spirit of the architecture with the city’s fairy-tale spires and picturesque ancient streets.

Warnemünde, in Germany, is the last port of call before a daytime transit through the Kiel Canal.
