Gilbert & Sullivan fans can enjoy five on board concerts performed by expert hosts Matthew Craven and Judith Buckle on river cruise ship Douro Queen next summer.

The couple perform popular songs from the great Victorian opera duo whose best-known work includes HMS Pinafore, The Pirates of Penzance and The Mikado.

The Saga-exclusive river cruise also features two talks to enrich the musical experience while sailing through the glorious Douro Valley.

All cabins are outside facing and cabins on the upper deck have a balcony, while those on the main deck have large picture windows. All cabins are en suite and have twin or double beds, as well as a television, hairdryer and a safe.

Judith Buckle

Judith studied at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and was a member of the BBC Singers before joining the London Savoyards travelling around the world aboard the QE2. She has performed more than 40 principal roles worldwide.

Matthew Craven

Matthew ventured onto the stage 40 years ago when he joined the chorus in a production of L’elisir d’amore. He has performed roles in music hall, plays, musicals, operetta and opera. He now runs Cameo Opera with his wife Judith, performing more than 120 shows each year.
