Dress code smart!

Sail into a magical setting for the Hardanger Music Festival on Saga Pearl II’s Norway Notes cruise

Hardangerfjord’s majestic scenery has inspired musicians for centuries, including Edvard Grieg, Norway’s best-known composer.

The region’s musical legacy lives on at the annual Hardanger Music Festival, a week-long celebration of chamber music and folk songs.

A series of performances by up-and-coming musicians is held in beautiful settings and Saga guests, on the new Norwegian Notes cruise in May 2018, can enjoy a concert in the Bergslien Gallery, in picturesque Eidfjord.

Dress code is smart for the concert that includes classical piano music from Nordic masters, recitals by leading Norwegian clarinet and saxophone players, and traditional Norwegian folk music played on the Hardanger fiddle.

The star performer is Bengt Forsberg, one of Sweden's leading pianists, and he has become known for his wide repertoire and interest in finding neglected music.

Saga’s allocation of tickets for this performance is limited, so early booking is recommended.

An air of music festivity continues on board with classical concerts and live music from Saga Pearl II’s bands – plus late-night buffets to sustain music lovers!

Saga Pearl II also calls into Haugesund as Norway celebrates its Constitution Day, and the coastal town of Stavanger, so guests can choose from variety of optional excursions to discover more of Norway’s stunning landscape.
