Saga Cruises, the UK’s leading cruise line for the over 50s, is promoting its From Classical Greece to Ancient Egypt cruise on Spirit of Discovery, with a new special offer of £7,550 per person (previously it was £7,950pp).  The 26 night all-inclusive cruise sails from Dover this September and includes opportunities to visit some iconic world sites such as the Acropolis in Athens, Egypt’s Sphinx and Pyramids, and the Tomb of the Kings in Paphos, Cyprus.

Guests on this unforgettable cruise of the eastern Mediterranean will discover all about the rise and fall of the great civilisations of this region, as well as experience its rich culture and heritage. 

The itinerary includes highlights such as Sicily, Crete, Rhodes, the Turkish port of Antalya, which is steeped in Roman and Ottoman influences, and Paphos in Cyprus, with its archaeological treasures.  It also includes Alexandria in Egypt, plus Piraeus, which offers a gateway to ancient Athens, as well as Nafplion, which is a new port of call for Saga Cruises and offers the opportunity to visit Epidaurus.  The voyage continues to Valletta in Malta, the Knights of St John’s ‘Golden City’, before experiencing the exotic fusion of Spanish and Moroccan culture in Ceuta.

From Classical Greece to Ancient Egypt departs Dover on 9th September 2024.  The cruise is priced from £7,550 per person, based on two people sharing a guaranteed standard balcony cabin.

There are seven excursions available in: Gibraltar; Syracuse, Sicily; Rhodes Town, Rhodes; Paphos, Cyprus; Alexandria, Egypt; Athens (from Piraeus), Greece and Valletta, Malta.
