Go island hopping in the blissful Balearics
Guests can enjoy a relaxed tour across the islands of Ibiza, Majorca and Minorca which are not only steeped in history and culture but blessed with sunshine. Better still, most meals are included and there’s a free 12-hour bar at the first two hotels.
This adventure starting in Ibiza takes guests off the beaten track to experience the traditional side of island life, discovering beautiful scenery whilst also visiting the popular highlights along the way.
A five-night stay at Hotel Olé Galeón Ibiza 4Q, in San Miguel Bay, on the island’s peaceful north coast, offers time to explore Dalt Vila, Ibiza’s old town, set inside the ancient walls of the capital, plus further optional excursions include a day trip to the idyllic island of Formentera.
The hotel, perched on the hillside beside the bay, is terraced so that every room has stunning views over San Miguel with a sun terrace and loungers also commanding the same beautiful views across the bay. For those that want something different perhaps hike to the hilltop watchtower for an even more breathtaking view of the bay.
On Day Six, a flight from Ibiza takes guests to Majorca for a five-night stay at the Hotel Universal Romantica 3Q+, in pretty Colònia de Sant Jordi, on the island’s quieter south-east coast.
Tours include a visit to the capital Palma with its palm-lined promenade and fabulous marina. The itinerary also features trips to the fishing village of Porto Cristo, the Caves of Drach and the medieval village of Sineu which has a lively market.
A visit to the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains and the traditional picturesque towns of Deia and Valldemosa is an option for those who want to go further afield.
On Day 11, a ferry takes guests to Ciutadella, the former capital of Minorca, for a four-night stay at Hotel Port Ciutadella 4Q. A tour of the old town and a visit to the gothic cathedral are included but adventurous guests can take an optional trek along the Cami de Cavalls, an ancient path that encircles the island, offering 185 kilometres of stunning coastal views.
In the island’s historic capital, Mahón, there’s a tour of the harbour which is backed by Georgian houses and overlooked by a mansion once occupied by Admiral Lord Nelson.
