Hawaii, a Pacific Paradise

  • Take a sightseeing tour to Haleakala National Park

  • Enjoy a traditional Luau with music and dancing

  • Visit Pearl Harbour

Saga holidays have introduced a brand new island hopping tour, ‘Hawaii, a Pacific Paradise’, exploring the main islands of the remote volcanic archipelago of Hawaii. This 13-night tour will blend the perfect mix of relaxation, visiting some of the world’s best beaches whilst also exploring some of the islands, many hidden treasures.

Hawaii has been a popular tropical getaway for decades – and with good reason. The main islands offering everything from world-class surfing and snorkelling to increasingly dynamic food and hotel scenes-and with the temperature staying a steady 80-85 degrees fahrenheit, you will never be too hot or too cold!

The island hopping experience begins on the breath-taking island of Maui, the island that many believe to be the most magical. Maui is the second largest of the Hawaiian Islands and is known for its natural beauty. Spend time strolling down the main street of historic Lahaina and visit Halakala National Park, named after Maui’s highest peak, a dormant Volcano.

Next stop Kauai, geologically the oldest of the main islands of Hawaii and nicknamed ‘The Emerald Island’ thanks to the tropical rainforest covering much of its surface. Its tropical appearance is the reason why Stephen Speilburg chose Kauai as his location for filming ‘Jurassic Park’. Also the opening scenes of ‘Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark’ were also filmed here.

Explore Hawaii’s Big Island visiting the Valcanoes National Park and Wailuku River State Park, to see the Rainbow Falls. The falls flow over a natural lava cave, the mythological home to Hina, an ancient Hawaiian goodness. Rainbow falls derives its name from the fact that, on a sunny morning, rainbows can be seen in the mist thrown up by the waterfall.

Travel to Oahu Island, the third largest of the islands, Oahu is an irresistible mix of stunning mountain ranges and tropical scenery. Known at the ‘Gathering Place’ Oahu is the states most populated island. Visit Pearl Harbour, the site of World War II’s 1941 bombing attack and home to the USS Arizona Memorial, a poignant reminder of the 1,177 crewman who lost their lives here. Perhaps take a stroll down Honolulu Downtown, discovering its many historic sites.
