New: A Summer Regatta
Saga Pearl II sails into Dartmouth for the annual Royal Regatta in August 2018 so guests can watch dozens of sailing boats cross the finishing line alongside the ship!
An overnight mooring on the River Dart also offers time for guests to immerse themselves in the regatta celebrations which include the opening ceremony at the bandstand for the Beating Retreat performance.
The 400-passenger ship continues A Summer Regatta at sea theme on board where guests can dress up for the occasion, enjoy delicious food at pop-up picnics and learn how to splice the ropes.
The six-night cruise from Dover also calls into the Scilly Isles and Ringaskiddy, for Cork, in Ireland.
Ringaskiddy has a laid-back charm and is the perfect base for an optional tour to 15th-century Blarney Castle where those who climb the battlements can kiss the Blarney Stone to be rewarded with the ‘gift of the gab’. Guests can also head to the Jameson Heritage Centre to learn about the tradition of distilling Irish whiskey.
The Scilly Isles are 28 miles off the Cornish coast and sailing in by cruise ship is a delightful way to visit the archipelago which known its glorious white sand beaches and incredible birdlife.aga Pearl II sails into St Mary’s, the largest of the islands, with a coastline of about 10½ miles. The island is popular with walkers and guests can explore Hugh Town, head to the beach or take a boat to the other islands. There is an optional tour to Tresco to visit the world-famous Abbey Gardens, known as Kew without the glass. The unique gardens are a green oasis and home to 20,000 exotic plants from 80 countries.
