NEW: Saga Exclusive Hotel

NEW: Saga Exclusive Hotel: HTL Hotel Juan de la Cosa EXT 18520a

Authentic Spanish holiday only available with Saga

Family-run, beachside Hotel Juan de la Cosa, in Santoña, on Spain’s Cantabrian Coast, will be exclusively available to Saga guests on an innovative all-inclusive basis from April to October 2020.

Nestled between the mountains and sea, the intimate hotel provides a unique Spanish take on the all-inclusive holiday.

The Santillana-Astuy family pride themselves on producing home-cooked dishes with an authentic flavour of the region – including seafood from the fishing fleet in nearby Santoña.

All meals are included and feature a buffet breakfast and tapas lunches which can be served on the terrace which overlooks the sea. A la carte dinner is waiter-served with a selection of local wines and a free bar opens from 11am to 11pm every day.

Guests can expect to feel at home as owners Felipe and Margot and their team offer a warm welcome and personal service at the 55-bedroom hotel.

All contemporary rooms have tea and coffee making facilities and for keeping in touch with home there’s free wifi at the comfortable locally rated 4-star hotel. Guests can upgrade to a sea-view room for a supplement, subject to availability.

A programme of activities and entertainment include a wine-tasting and cookery demonstration, traditional live music, a talk on local culture, whilst those wishing to indulge in a little pampering can do so with free entrance to the Spa or treat themselves to a facial or a massage. Golf is available nearby while the region is also ideal for keen walkers.

Richard Newsome, Head of Product and Purchasing for Stays said: “We are thrilled to be able to offer this wonderful hotel to our customers.  At Saga, we strive to provide our customers with great quality, excellent value for money holidays that are truly different from the commoditised holiday packages available elsewhere and Juan de la Cosa fits the bill perfectly.

“We are looking for hotels where we can make customers feel special, like they are guests coming to stay, and Felipe and Margot take such great pride in welcoming our customers into their family hotel and providing them with the highest levels of service.”

“For customers looking for an authentic break to Spain, this is the real deal and you will be hard pushed to find another Spanish all-inclusive hotel where you have the option of relaxing at the bar and eating tapas and pintxos for lunch as if you were in a street corner bar of Bilbao’s old town.”

For days out, Santoña’s Playa de Berria beach is a hop, skip and jump from the hotel and exploring this beautiful part of Spain is easy, either independently or on a choice of included excursions to the charming coastal town of Santoña, the pretty resort Laredo and medieval Lierganes, considered one of the most beautiful villages in Spain.

For guests staying two weeks, included excursions include Santander, Cantabria’s grand capital and the seaside town Castro Urdiales.

Free local bus tickets to Santoña are available from the hotel with the bus stop just 50 yards away, while payable excursions can be arranged to Bilbao – one of the culinary capitals of Spain and home to The Guggenheim Museum; The Picos de Europa, the highest range of mountains in the Cantabrian Cordillera, and the beautifully preserved medieval village of Santillana del Mar.
