Responding to the continuing focus on the Duke of Edinburgh’s age in relation to his accident yesterday, Saga calls for people to stop vilifying older drivers.

Alex Cross, Insurance expert at Saga said “it’s a very sad state of affairs when, before even knowing the facts, people grasp onto the Duke of Edinburgh’s age as a potential cause of this accident. In contrast when an accident occurs that involves a middle aged driver their age is rarely mentioned. As a society we need to stop vilifying older drivers, and instead look at the facts before making judgements about somebody’s suitability to drive.”
