Saga Holidays releases winter sun range with a focus on staying longer for less

With the Government announcement around international travel last week and customers keen to have something to look forward to, Saga Holidays has launched its winter 2021/22 holidays to some top destinations with a real focus on added value.

  • Saga Holidays launches winter sun holidays with new destinations including Malta and Cyprus
  • Focus on added value including single rooms at no extra cost and four weeks for the price of three
  • Underpinned by ‘Saga Reassurance Promise’ that allows changes without penalty, a ‘Price Promise’ that will refund any differences in the event prices drop and, in the unlikely event a customer doesn’t love their holiday by day two, a complementary return flight and full refund
  • Customers’ health and well-being is paramount with travellers asked to have both vaccines ahead of holiday. Additional covid-safe measures are in place and Saga Holidays is monitoring destination Covid requirements and communicating them to customers ahead of travel.
  • Travel insurance included in the price with up to £5m coronavirus cover

With the Government announcement around international travel last week and customers keen to have something to look forward to, Saga Holidays has launched its winter 2021/22 holidays to some top destinations with a real focus on added value.

Given that recent research* conducted for the tour operator by PwC found that nearly half (45%) those interviewed who are planning a trip will depart for two weeks or more, Saga Holidays is offering four weeks for the price of three on a number of destinations, as well as benefits such as single rooms at no additional cost, but customers should book quickly as places are limited.

In addition to customers’ firm favourites such as Spain, South Africa and Madeira, Saga Holidays has also introduced four new winter sun destinations to the collection:

  • Malta and Gozo: Islands of the Knights. This 10-night tour includes stays in both Malta, with its beautiful architecture and warm weather and the smaller island of Gozo, which is famous for its clear seas and snorkelling. All the Maltese hotels are offered on an all-inclusive and this tour has nine excursions included in the £999 per person price. There is also no additional charge for single occupancy.
  • Hotel Stabia, Sorrento is home for seven nights from just £619 per person, with single occupancy rooms at no extra cost. Guests will be hosted at the 4Q hotel, which is located in the beautiful Bay of Naples, on a full-board basis. An included excursion takes customers to the ancient city of Pompeii with its preserved ruins following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD79. A second excursion is included to the popular town of Sorrento with its historic heart that is largely unchanged since the era of Ancient Rome. And those looking to shop can take a stroll into Naples, which is famous for its ceramics, lacework and woodwork as well as being the home of neopolitan pizza.
  • Seven nights at The Atlantica Miramare Beach in Limassol, Cyprus starts from £699 per person, all-inclusive and single occupancy rooms are available at no extra cost. There’s also the option to book for four weeks but pay for just three – that’s a month’s all-inclusive holiday for just over £2,000 per person. Guests can relax in the 4Q hotel, take a dip in the Mediterranean Sea or stroll around the local Yermasoyeia neighbourhood with its restaurants, bars and shops. It is also just 3km away from the old town of Limassol.
  • The Radisson Blu Resort El Quseir is in a scenic location a little further south of the traditional Red Sea resorts in Egypt. 21 nights, all-inclusive start from £1,549 per person, and there’s the option to extend to a 28-night stay for the same price, working out at less than £400 per person per week. Single occupancy rooms are available with no surcharge and the 4Q hotel boasts a fantastic beach and resort facilities. Included in the holiday is a full day snorkelling to Utopia Island with its abundant marine life. Holidaymakers wishing to venture out will find the city centre with its cafes bars and historic areas is just 3kms away.

The safety and wellbeing of customers is Saga’s number one priority, which is why the tour operator is asking that all guests have both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine at least 14-days ahead of travel. This is just one of a number of measures the dedicated health and safety team have introduced as they work closely with our long-standing global partners, including the UK Government, on Covid-safe travel protocols. They are also monitoring the Covid-specific requirements of each destination and are committed to communicating them with customers ahead of departure.

Any customers that book a 2021 Saga holiday before the end of April are covered by a Reassurance Promise, which enables them to amend their travel plans without penalty if they wish to.

The operator also offers a price promise, which means that should they ever reduce their prices or bring in a new special offer after a customer has booked, they will calculate the difference and automatically pass the saving back.

Chris Simmonds, Chief Executive Saga Holidays, said: “We know customers are looking forward to getting away and enjoying a different view having spent so much time at home over the last 12 months. Therefore, we’re pleased to be able to offer customers the chance to escape the British winter with a great selection of hotels with many offering extra weeks free and single rooms at no extra cost.

“As we move into our 70th year, the cornerstones of quality, service and value for money are still very much at the heart of everything we do. This year especially we are mindful of the importance of the wellbeing of our customers which is why we introduced our Vaccine-only travel policy – which has been very well received and giving confidence to travel with Saga.”

Saga Holidays provides all guests will a dedicated host they can speak to 24 hours a day, plus additional extras only its customers can enjoy such as dedicated VIP Club lounge at many hotels. Saga Holidays will also offer customers a flight home and a full refund in the event they don’t love their holiday after two days.
