20th September 2023: Saga, the UK's specialist in products and services for people over 50, has launched a brand-new legal service in partnership with Co-op Legal Services. Through the new legal service, Saga customers will be able to access advice and guidance from the legal specialists at Co-op Legal Services, on a range of planning solutions, from standard will drafting, to complex Inheritance Tax solutions and the protection of assets.

Co-op Legal Services will provide Saga Legal customers transparent, fixed fee pricing and all quotes will be provided on a no-obligation basis, offering customers ease and expert guidance from legal support around estate planning and most of all, peace of mind.

Saga customers can enjoy benefits such as:

  • A free 10-point legal review to ascertain the specific needs of the customer and act as a starting point for tailored support
  • Free bereavement support to provide assistance and guidance in difficult times

Saga Legal has been launched specifically with the over-50s customer in mind, combining Co-op Legal Services’ well-established legal offering with Saga’s deep understanding of the distinct set of needs and preferences of those over-50.  Saga’s proprietary research shows that 63% of Saga customers have a will that is fully up to date, although only a quarter of customers are reviewing their wills every 3-5 years as recommended. Of those without a will 40% said that an affordable will service would motivate them to create one, while a further 29% are looking for more guidance on how to prepare a will.1

Saga Legal customers can access advice and will-writing services from Co-op Legal Services through a range of channels including digital, telephone and face-to-face options. Charges for these services are fixed, irrespective of channel, ensuring that no customers are disadvantaged by their preference.
