As discussed on the Victoria Derbyshire show today, the fact that Kadcyla is to be withdrawn for use on the NHS has been a devastating blow to women across the country. We would like to reassure our health insurance customers that this drug and many others not approved by NICE are still available to them if they have been licensed for use on the cancer they are suffering from. Developing drugs is a costly business, but there ought to be a mechanism to ensure that drug companies do not attempt to profiteer, enabling people to get access to the drugs that make a difference.
