Saga Shipping's investment in existing fleet

Saga Sapphire sets sail this week on a 4 night Gallic cruise following two months in wet dock in Blohm and Voss yard in Hamburg.
Stuart McQuaker, Chief Operating Officer, Saga Shipping said “Saga Sapphire has recently completed an extended maintenance period in the Blohm and Voss yard. Work included maintenance to her main engines in order to ensure continued reliability for the years of service ahead.

“Whilst in the yard we took the opportunity to complete a range of other maintenance including the freshening up of some passenger and crew areas. In particular, regular passengers will notice we’ve introduced a brand new deck covering around the exterior swimming pool area and the creation of an extension to the popular Aviators bar in order to provide more space that our passengers can enjoy'

In addition to the investment in its existing fleet, Saga cruises announced in September 2015 their intention to build a new ship to be delivered in Summer 2019. The new ship will carry less than 1,000 passengers and will retain the intimacy and personal touch for which Saga is renowned. All cabins will have exterior balconies and will be 55,900 GT approx.
