Saga’s new ship Spirit of Discovery is set to make her first Atlantic crossing in time for guests to celebrate Christmas 2019 on the other side of ‘The Pond’.

The 35-night epic voyage starts from home with Saga’s much revered door-to-door chauffeur service taking the strain to transport guests to Southampton on December 5, 2019 where the Spirit of Discovery truly begins with featured calls including the Caribbean, America and Bermuda.

In America, the 999-guest ship cruises along the east coast from tropical Key West to Miami and Cape Canaveral, while in the Caribbean, guests can travel by tram into Harrison’s Cave in Barbados and spot exotic birdlife in Dominica. 

There are two overnight moorings; the first in New York to see the iconic streets decked ready for the big event with Christmas lights aplenty, followed by Bermuda to welcome in the New Year.

The elegant ship, dressed in festive decorations, offers a special Christmas to remember with fine cuisine – plus entertainment including music from steel bands and Latin music by local performers.

Guests can also rehearse and perform in a Broadway-style show on board Spirit of Discovery as she sails across the Atlantic. This really is a historic voyage as the first new Saga ship to make the crossing on a Fairy Tale of New York cruise!

Saga’s first new ship, Spirit of Discovery replaces Saga Pearl II in July 2019 while Saga’s second ship, Spirit of Adventure, is planned to enter service in 2020. Both ships will host 999 guests and 517 crew members.
