This once-in-a-lifetime cruise is Spirit of Discovery’s longest journey yet and departs from Southampton on January 6, 2021. Prices from £17,324 per person and include balcony cabins as standard, chauffeur service to the port*, all-inclusive drinks and meals, daily afternoon tea, onboard gratuities, free wifi and optional travel insurance – all included in the price.
The clockwise circumnavigation of South America begins with an Atlantic crossing to Brazil and a week’s cruising through the stunning Amazon rainforest. Other highlights include discovering the wilderness of Patagonia, passing through the Panama Canal and visiting Ecuador and Colombia.
From Callao, Peru, there will be optional tours to the Galapagos Islands and Machu Picchu, while overnight moorings include Rio de Janeiro and Manaus, in Brazil, and Stanley in the Falkland Islands.
In addition Spirit of Adventure, which launches in August 2020, makes six European voyages from January to March 2021 including the 14-night Constellations of the Canaries with stargazing guided by an astronomer, a photographer onboard specialising in capturing images of the night sky, and talks on navigating by the stars from the ship’s officers.
For guests seeking the Northern Lights the 16-night sailing A Norwegian Aurora, with an included excursion to seek out the incredible Aurora Borealis, is a must. Take a train ride on the rugged Rauma Railway – passing the ‘Troll Wall’, the highest sheer rock face in Europe, spend a night in the Sorrisniva Igloo hotel, or enjoy the magical Artic scenery from a wooden sledge pulled by a pack of huskies.
A Taste of the Mediterranean is a 15-night springtime gastronomic delight with a cruise to Barcelona, Valencia and Cartagena which includes a traditional Spanish horse show, flamenco dancing, paella and tapas-making plus chocolate and wine tasting – what’s not to like!.
The 8 night Scandinavian Rhythms takes in the changing of the Royal Guard in Copenhagen, the Bangsbo Fort coastal museum in Frederikshavn, the old Haga district of Gothenburg and the stunning scenery of Odderøya in Kristiansand.
There’s a focus on well-being during the 16-night Exotic Morocco and the Canaries sailing with guided hikes and outdoor yoga while The Beautiful Canaries cruise offers time to explore the islands’ natural splendour or relax on a sandy beach, with calls at Lisbon and Madeira.
All cruise packages are all-inclusive with a chauffeur service to and from the port (within a 250-mile radius) and passengers can save up to 35% on early bookings - with the Saga price promise covering any further fare changes.
