See some of Spain’s most charming cities by boat during Saga’s new Little Boats of Andalucía holiday.

Stay at the four-star Sherry Park Hotel for the leisurely seven-night break with tours to Seville, Rota and Cadiz, as well as the wildlife-rich Doñana National Park, while leaving plenty of time to explore independently.

The largest city in Andalusia, Seville, can be seen from two perspectives, with a walking tour and a boat trip on the Guadalquivir River. Highlights include the Plaza de España, a large semi-circle of buildings fringing Maria Luisa Park, with its pretty Vicente Traver fountain and beautifully tiled alcoves representing different provinces of Spain, and the country’s largest Gothic cathedral.

A guided walk in Cadiz, one of Spain’s oldest cities with roots going back to 1100BC, features four busy harbours and contrasts the open waterfront with the alleyways and squares of the medieval town ‘El Populo’ before a boat trip across the bay for a tour of Rota, home to the 13th-century Luna Castle. 

Sanlúcar de Barrameda, known for its sherry cellars and horse races along the beach, is also on the itinerary, followed by a cruise through the Doñana National Park, where a huge expanse of salt marsh attracts a wealth of wildlife with a chance to spot: deer, wild boar, mongoose, the rare Iberian lynx, and a range of birds, including the Spanish imperial eagle.

A tour of the hilltop villages of Cadiz, characterised by whitewashed buildings, fortifications and charming narrow streets, and a return boat trip from Puerto Banus to Marbella, are further optional excursions.
